Fearful? The idea of #courage is most often misunderstood and rarely looks like what we envision. It is often portrayed as the great #warrior in a grand battle. The practical reality, however, is much less glamorous.
It is the person who:
awakes in the #morning after a sleepless night and with a deep sigh of resignation forces their feet to the day.
overcomes their worst fears to face a diagnosis and begins a fight which they did not want or choose.
shows up to #work and completes their duties when everything within them tells them to quit yet they persevere and grind through another shift just to keep the roof over their head.
brushes their teeth and gets showered to make themselves presentable to a #society they feel rejected by to accomplish a task they do not believe in so their children can have a better future.
True #courage is the fact that all of this is done with no fanfare, no celebration, no awards and yet it is done anyway.
Show me a person who has accomplished even one day in any of these circumstances, and I will show you the true definition of courage that births everyday heroes all around us.
